Needs big fenced in yard to run in and other big dogs to play with. She loves to play!! Not available for transport out east.
2/18/10- Vet has stopped all Ivomec and she is Demodex free!!! And her hair is growing back in!!
1/14/10- Stephie has lost more than half of the hair on her back with bald spots. Vet had the Ivomec continuing....She is doing well in her foster home. She is all play.
12/18/09- Stephie has full blown Demodex mange and is daily losing hair all over her face and body. She is on daily Ivomec for at least the next 60 days. Stephie loves to play and she is not 100% housebroken yet. She needs some work on social skills with people like how to not jump up and all over people. She loves to play with the other dogs and she is now crawling up in our laps!! That is an improvement, as we think she has been an outside dog with no bonding. She is a smart dog, but working on her coming when she is called. Seems play is on her mind all the time, and then potty when she gets done playing, if she remembers. HA!!
12/8/09- Stephie went to the vet and now has Demodex Mange on her face. She got a Promeris treatment and spent the night, but she is back in her foster home doing well.
She will return in two weeks for another treatment.
11/28/09- Stephie was spayed on 11/23/09. She is busy playing with the other boxers. She is still very thin and we are working on her gaining weight. She loves to go outside and run at full blast around the yard. She likes balls and ropes to play with, but mostly loves other dogs. She is not 100% housetrained, but we keep working on it. She is learning to bond with her foster parents and will crawl up in our laps and want love and attention. She has made a lot of progress.
11.16.09-Hello everyone my name is Stephie. I am a young Boxer girl looking for my forever family. I was found by this nice man who's wife is with BoxAR Rescue. I almost got ran over, but he saved me. I jumped into his car and slept the whole way to the vet. I had no ID and no microchip and no one is looking for me. I was covered in fleas, but not anymore. I am now up to date on my rabies and shots, HW NEGATIVE, and Fecal NEGATIVE AS WELL. I weigh 42 lbs., but I could use some more weight. I am getting spayed on 11/20/09. I am a little scared and not sure I am used to being an indoor dog. I don't seem to have bonded with people before but I will let you cuddle me for a few minutes. I love to play and play. I would love to find my forever home before the holidays. I have heard Santa is the best. So, if you are interested in adopting me please put your application in TODAY!
More pictures, video and information will be coming as BoxAR learns more about me. I am a wiggly girl so hard to get good pictures of me.
NOTE:
We are not a shelter or pound. We don't have a facility. We are all volunteers who love the Boxers. We have jobs and families and don't have "regular business hours". For this reason, we don't show the dogs until an application has been submitted. Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt a Boxer, but it does tell us that your interest in rescue is serious. We thank you for being considerate of our time and efforts.
