6-15-10- Update from Foster Mom: "Just a little update on Cutie Pie. She is starting to gain weight slowly but its coming on. She kept sticking her nose in the toy box but never came up with anything. Yesterday she took that step and now they are all over the house. We seldom see her without a toy even when sleeping which does not happen much. She has taught Champ how to play tug of war. Its a good thing we have plenty of rope toys. She is still obsessed with the cats and I believe she will need a home without them. She will do good with an active companion either male or female. She does not bark much but loves to talk with squeaky voices and groans. We are working on leash and basic obedience training right now. She is a fast learner. For those of you who do not know this from her pics, yes her tongue is larger than her ears. I forgot to mention that she will steal the flip flops right off your feet too. She is a bundle of energy but a very sweet girl. The only time she is mellow for more than 5 mins is when she is hanging with my son. They chill together."
6-7-10 Cutie Pie is in her new foster home and needs to gain some weight before she can get heartworm treatment. She is playing and having fun with the other boxers and loves to run in the yard. She is a very happy and energetic dog who loves to sleep with her pillow. She needs leash and obedience training. She is very smart as she has been with us for two days and has learned "no" and "sit"
5/11/10- Cutie Pie was spayed. She loves to play with dogs all sizes. She does very well with small dogs too. She loves kids too. She is not good with the cats she has been around. She can play rough and LOVES to play. She is crate trained and she is a lot of fun. She still needs a new foster home to go to for heartworm treatment. Can you help this sweetheart?
4/23/10- From Foster Mom: "Attached are some of cutie pie's pics. She is doing well. I am setting up an appt. for her to get spayed next week. She is still skinny, but she has gained some weight! Shes very obedient, loves to sit in your lap. does not like to be in kennel. only wants to go outside if you go with her. likes to be around people. not too fond of cats. i think she would do absolutely wonderful with a family....she loves kids!!"
4/15/10- Cutie Pie is doing well and still needs spay and heartworm treatment. Her new
foster Mom is in Lafayette, LA. The costs for the medical bills she needs is high in that area and we need to find her a new foster home where we can get low vet bills to get her spay and heartworm treatment. She likes other dogs and likes the cat in the foster home, but the cat doesn't like Cutie Pie. She is crate trained. Please put in an application to foster her as soon as possible and we will work on transport arrangements. Thanks!!
3/1/3/10- Cutie Pie is making progress in her foster home. She has been in and out of the vet with severe diarrhea. She is heartworm positive and will need treatment. She is almost housetrained and appears that she has not had love, attention or training. She wants food and searches for food all the time. This will get better as she gains weight and feels better. Foster Mom reports that she is a sweetie and hopes to get her on a routine schedule and not have to go back to the vet.
Cutie Pie was pulled from a kill shelter in LA as her time was up. She was brought there as a stray and no owner showed up to claim her. She is so cute with those ears!! She can hear just fine. She has been at the vet with severe diarrhea caused from a parasite and is being treated. Unfortunately she has heartworms and will need treatment. She has a foster home with a Boston Terrier, when she is well enough to go there. She is racking up the vet bills and could use sponsors to help with her expenses. I am sure you agree that she is a CUTIE PIE!!! Continue to watch for updates.....
NOTE: We are not a shelter or pound. We don't have a facility. We are all volunteers who love the Boxers. We have jobs and families and don't have "regular business hours". For this reason, we don't show the dogs until an application has been submitted. Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt a Boxer, but it does tell us that your interest in rescue is serious. We thank you for being considerate of our time and efforts.
